The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens is a series of 17 gardens that span 66 acres of land. Delta Fountains was called in to help design and provide the equipment for several of the water features

Botanical Garden Fountain Challenge

The Dallas Arboretum Children’s Adventure Garden posed several challenges for the designers and programmers.  The biggest issue was ensuring that all zones within the large Children’s section of the gardens were able to give the illusion of a single flow of water, with different treatment systems for each action. On top of this, the main building needed a way to draw water for the air conditioning unit, since there are no other water sources close enough.

Delta Fountains Solution

Our fountain designers teamed up to create a design that includes a network ring large enough to cover the grounds, multiple water systems made to give the illusion of one continuous flow of water, and the ability to pull water from the outside systems to  be used as a head exchange and cooling feature to the air conditioning it inside the main Discovery building.

Due to the need for remote connectivity, the gardens’ many water features are linked by eight touch screens at different stations around the garden and a ninth, master controller, inside the main Discovery building. Each of these nine stations have full ability to control each other, including changing the mechanics inside the systems and controlling the effects. For further user friendliness, each station is color-coded for park personnel.
